Terms of use
1. Scope
These terms govern access to and use of this website. By using the website you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website. Full operator details are in the imprint.
2. What this website is
This website publishes advertising-funded, sponsored information about the UK State Pension, Income Tax in retirement and related household costs. Its purpose is general orientation: explaining published rules, published rates and the arithmetic behind them in plain language.
3. What this website is not
- It is not financial, investment, legal, tax or benefits advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified adviser or from the responsible authority.
- It is not an official publication of GOV.UK, the Department for Work and Pensions or HM Revenue & Customs, and it is not connected to, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any government body.
- It does not administer State Pensions, assess entitlement, process claims or release payments.
- It does not recommend the products or services of any particular provider.
4. Figures and examples
Amounts given on this website are either published official rates for a stated period, or clearly labelled arithmetical illustrations built from those rates. They are not sums confirmed as owed to any individual, and they are not a promise, a payout, a bonus or a grant.
Individual entitlement to a State Pension, and the tax due on it, are determined by the relevant government records and rules, and by the person's own circumstances. Where this website and an official source differ, the official source prevails.
5. No contract is formed
No contract for the supply of goods, services, financial products or advice is concluded through this website. The only interaction that creates any ongoing relationship is a newsletter subscription, which is free, consent-based and cancellable at any time (clause 7).
At no point does this website request a payment, a fee, a registration charge, card details or bank details. Any message appearing to do so in the name of this website should be treated as fraudulent and can be reported to us at [email protected].
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the website available and the content current, but we give no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Rules and rates change; articles carry a first-publication date and, where revised, a separate revision date. We may amend, add to or withdraw content at any time.
7. Newsletter
The newsletter is free and requires only an email address. Subscription uses a double opt-in procedure: nothing is sent until the confirmation link is clicked. You may unsubscribe from any issue, or by writing to [email protected]. Subscribing is never a condition of reading anything on this website. Details of the processing involved are in the privacy policy.
8. Intellectual property
The text, layout, design and other content created by the operator are protected by copyright and related rights. You may read, print and share pages for your own private, non-commercial use. Systematic copying, republication, framing, adaptation or commercial exploitation requires our prior written consent.
Typefaces and icons are used under licence. Photographs are illustrative and do not depict identifiable individuals in the circumstances described.
9. External links
Links to third-party websites are provided for reference, principally to official sources. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for it. Following an external link means leaving this website and entering the scope of that operator's terms and privacy policy.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. In other respects our liability is limited to the breach of material contractual obligations and to foreseeable damage typical of this kind of service. Liability for information published for general orientation, where it is relied upon without reference to the official source or to professional advice, is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Statutory rights that cannot be limited are unaffected.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law, the law of the operator's establishment. Where you use this website as a consumer resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of that country remain unaffected.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected] or by post to Nesso Srl, Vicolo Pertusio 24, 26100 Cremona, Italy. See also the contact page.
